      <description><![CDATA[One hundred phoenixes came looking for somewhere to nest. Ninety-nine of them found peaks along the north edge of Hà Tĩnh and settled. The hundredth bird had nowhere to perch, so it flew on — and the rest of the flock rose and followed it into the sky. That, the story goes, is why the Hùng king looked at this ridge and decided against putting his capital beneath it. Ninety-nine is a cruel number in Vietnamese folklore: almost enough, and therefore not enough at all. The range has carried the count ever since.]]></description>
